Sting: The Last Ship PBS Special Great Performances DVD 2014 16:9 Dolby Digital 5.1 09-23-14 Release Date

Sting and his band and Jimmy Nail perform "Shipyard" from his album and upcoming musical, "The Last Ship," live at the Public Theater in New York City. The song introduces various characters in a shipbuilding community.

THE LAST SHIP tells the story of the demise of the shipbuilding industry in 1980s Newcastle which had, for so long, shaped and overshadowed the city, its development, and its community. Inspired by this subject matter, Sting has written more than 40 original songs for the project, some of which will be included in a stage play of the same name. The defining songs featured on the album The Last Ship explore a myriad of universal themes including the complexity of relationships, the passage of time, transgressions, and redemption.
