Bee Gees: One Night Only Las Vegas Live MGM Grand 1997 DVD 2010 DTS 5.1
Anniversary edition with a revised sleeve and additional content, released to celebrate 50 years of the Brothers Gibb. Barry, Maurice and Robin Gibb were performing together from childhood but it was in Australia in 1960 that they were first billed as the Bee Gees. The band went on to become one of the most successful performing, recording and songwriting acts of all time. This full-length concert was shot at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas on November 14, 1997 and is one of very few Bee Gees performances ever filmed. Rating:
The Bee Gees' One Night Only captures the group in a 1997 one-off show at Las Vegas' MGM Grand. In their first stateside show in nearly a decade, the Brothers Gibb perform their own classic hits -- "You Should Be Dancing," "I've Gotta Get a Message to You," "Massachusetts," "Lonely Days," and "Stayin' Alive" among them -- as well as pop classics like "Islands in the Stream," "Guilty," and "How Can You Mend a Broken Heart." The Gibbs perform with their late brother Andy on "Our Love (Don't Throw It Away)" and Celine Dion also makes a special guest appearance. Though the disc doesn't offer much in the way of DVD extras, devoted fans will want to upgrade their collections with this disc, if only for its crystal-clear sound. [This version includes three bonus tracks, one of which is an interview with the group.] ~ Heather Phares, Rovi
