EU-only digitally remastered two-fer containing a pair of albums from the soul vocalist plus four bonus tracks. The legendary Sam Cooke left an indelible mark on the face of popular music. Without a doubt, he had one of the smoothest, most soulful voices around. Much like his contemporary Ray Charles, Cooke successfully synthesized a blend of gospel music and secular themes that provided the early foundation of soul music. This quintessential release includes two of the singer's most difficult to find LPs: COOKE'S TOUR (1960), and HIT KIT (1959). Both LPs contain some of Cooke's best-known hits, such as “You Send Me,” “Everybody Likes to Cha-Cha-Cha,” and “All of My Life,” as well as Sam's covers of classic numbers, such as “South of the Border,” “Jamaica Farewell,” and “Galway Bay,” among others. Long unavailable on CD, these albums have finally been remastered and packaged together in this special collector's edition, which also includes four bonus tracks from the same period. There's no better proof of Sam Cooke's genius than these soulful, passionate, stylish and exuberant recordings.
